Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 22, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Facega ("Facega", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you visit facega.com and its related pages.
Facega is an advertising-supported information website intended to help Canadian homeowners understand common considerations relating to residential solar systems, solar equipment, installation and available options.
The current version of this website does not contain a lead-generation, registration or quotation form and does not ask visitors to submit their name, telephone number, email address, home address or other contact information directly to Facega through the Solar Guide.
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through facega.com and related pages operated by Facega.
It does not apply to third-party websites, suppliers, installers, manufacturers, utilities, lenders, advertising platforms or other services that may be linked from this website.
When you follow a link to another website, that website operates independently and its own privacy policy and terms will apply.
2. Applicable privacy framework
Depending on the nature of the information, the location of the visitor and the circumstances in which information is processed, Facega's privacy practices may be subject to applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection Act of British Columbia (PIPA) and, where applicable, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Facega aims to collect and use only the information reasonably required for legitimate website operation, security, advertising measurement, attribution and performance analysis.
3. Information you do not provide through this website
The Facega Solar Guide currently does not provide a form for submitting a solar assessment request directly to Facega.
Accordingly, Facega does not intentionally collect through this page:
- your full name;
- your telephone number;
- your personal email address;
- your home or installation address;
- your electricity bills;
- financial or credit information;
- payment-card information; or
- details of a solar quotation or installation request.
If you choose to submit this type of information after following a link to an external supplier or service provider, that information is submitted directly to that third party and is governed by that party's own privacy practices.
4. Information collected automatically
When you access Facega, certain technical information may be processed automatically by the website, hosting infrastructure, security systems and any analytics or advertising technologies configured on the website.
This information may include:
- IP address;
- date and time of the request;
- requested page or resource;
- referring website or referring URL;
- browser type and version;
- operating system;
- device type;
- screen or device characteristics;
- general language settings;
- approximate geographic information derived from an IP address;
- HTTP request and response information;
- security and diagnostic logs;
- campaign, click or advertising identifiers contained in the page URL; and
- information about interactions with links and buttons on the website.
This information may be used to operate the website, detect technical problems, prevent abuse, understand website performance and measure advertising activity.
5. Advertising and campaign attribution
Visitors may reach Facega through online advertising campaigns. A landing URL may therefore contain advertising or campaign parameters supplied by an advertising platform, publisher or measurement system.
These parameters may include items such as campaign identifiers, advertisement identifiers, click identifiers, publisher identifiers, source information or similar attribution values.
Facega may process these parameters for purposes such as:
- measuring whether an advertising visit reached the website;
- understanding the source of website traffic;
- measuring outbound interactions;
- preventing duplicate or invalid measurement;
- evaluating advertising performance; and
- preserving attribution when a visitor voluntarily continues to a third-party website.
6. Outbound links and parameter forwarding
Facega contains links to external websites relating to solar equipment and residential solar services.
When you choose to continue to an external provider, existing advertising or campaign parameters contained in your Facega URL may be added to the destination URL for attribution and measurement purposes.
This may include advertising click IDs or campaign parameters already present in the URL used to access Facega.
Facega does not automatically transfer your name, telephone number, email address, postal address, payment information or other information entered into a third-party website.
Once you arrive at an external website, the operator of that website is separately responsible for the information it collects from you.
7. Third-party website โ CDN Solar
Some Facega calls-to-action may direct visitors to the website operated by CDN Solar / Canadian Solar Wholesale Inc.
CDN Solar is a third-party website operated independently from Facega. Facega does not operate CDN Solar's forms, customer database, quotation process, checkout systems or customer service systems.
If you provide personal information to CDN Solar or another external provider, that provider's privacy policy and terms govern the collection and use of that information.
Facega is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or data-processing activities of third-party websites.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Facega may use cookies, browser storage, pixels, tags or similar technologies where they are required for website functionality, security, analytics, advertising measurement or attribution.
Depending on the technologies configured on the website, these tools may be used to:
- maintain basic website functionality;
- remember technical preferences;
- detect abnormal or potentially fraudulent activity;
- measure page visits;
- measure clicks on outbound links;
- attribute traffic to an advertising campaign; and
- measure advertising conversions.
Some technologies may be operated by third-party advertising or analytics providers. Those providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.
You can generally manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect website functionality or advertising measurement.
9. Conversion and measurement page
When a visitor voluntarily selects a button that leads to an external solar provider, Facega may load an internal confirmation or measurement page before the visitor is redirected.
This page may be used to record an outbound interaction and, where configured, activate approved advertising or analytics measurement tags.
Loading this confirmation page does not mean that you submitted a quotation request, purchased a solar system or entered into an agreement with Facega or the destination provider.
10. Analytics and advertising providers
Facega may use third-party analytics, advertising or campaign-measurement services. Depending on the active advertising campaign, these providers may receive technical information or advertising identifiers relating to a visit or outbound interaction.
The specific technologies used may change as advertising campaigns and measurement systems are updated.
Facega does not authorize third-party measurement providers to use information collected through this website in a manner inconsistent with their applicable contractual and privacy obligations.
11. How we use information
Information processed through Facega may be used for the following purposes:
- operating and delivering the website;
- maintaining security and preventing abuse;
- diagnosing technical errors;
- measuring website traffic and performance;
- understanding how visitors interact with website content;
- measuring advertising campaigns;
- attributing outbound visits to relevant advertising sources;
- maintaining aggregated statistics; and
- complying with applicable legal obligations.
12. Disclosure of information
Facega does not operate a database for selling homeowner lead-form information collected through this Solar Guide, because no such lead form is provided on this page.
Technical or advertising information may nevertheless be processed by service providers involved in operating or measuring the website, such as:
- web-hosting providers;
- security and infrastructure providers;
- analytics providers;
- advertising and attribution platforms;
- technical service providers; and
- authorities where disclosure is required by applicable law.
13. International and cross-border processing
Some hosting, analytics, advertising or technology providers may process information using systems or infrastructure located outside the province in which you live or outside Canada.
As a result, information processed by those providers may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is stored or processed.
Where Facega uses third-party service providers, reasonable steps should be taken to ensure that information entrusted to those providers is handled with appropriate safeguards.
14. Data retention
Facega aims to retain technical, security and advertising measurement information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, including website operation, security, attribution, reporting and legal requirements.
Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record and the third-party service involved.
15. Security
Facega takes reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information under its control against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
However, no Internet transmission, hosting environment or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on the applicable privacy law and the circumstances, you may have rights relating to personal information held about you, including the ability to:
- ask whether Facega holds personal information about you;
- request access to eligible personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- ask questions about how information is collected, used or disclosed; and
- raise a concern regarding Facega's privacy practices.
Because this version of Facega does not contain a registration or quotation form, Facega may have little or no directly identifying information about an individual visitor.
17. Children
Facega is intended for homeowners and adults researching residential solar products and services. The website is not directed to children and Facega does not knowingly request personal information from children through the Solar Guide.
18. Third-party links
Facega may contain links to websites operated by suppliers, manufacturers, government organizations, utilities or other third parties.
A link does not mean that Facega controls or assumes responsibility for the external website's privacy practices. Visitors should review the privacy policy of the destination website before providing personal information.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when website functionality, advertising technologies, service providers, legal requirements or our privacy practices change.
The date displayed at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently updated.
